TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Athletics Department is prepared to kick off the 38th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day – a week-long recognition that begins Wednesday, Jan. 31 and leads up to the day of celebration which falls on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is an occasion dedicated to honoring the achievements of female athletes, coaches and leaders and highlights the power of sports to unlock the limitless potential of women and girls.

As part of Alabama Athletics’ celebration of NGWSD, the Crimson Tide Foundation has set a goal to raise $50,000 for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund – the annual scholarship fund for Alabama Athletics.

To aid in the Tide’s goal, the Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar the first $25,000 raised for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund between Jan. 31-Feb. 7.

Alabama ONE’s President/CEO Bill Wells said, “”The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation is proud to partner with the Crimson Tide Foundation to support the financial health of these deserving student-athletes while they pursue their degrees and compete for championships at the University of Alabama. With the generous support and combined efforts from our community, we have raised almost $342,000 in scholarship assistance for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund since starting the campaign in 2022. We are confident we can continue to make a tremendous impact for these young women. We hope everyone will join us in celebrating the accomplishments of these outstanding young women by supporting the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund.”
