WATCH FULL REPLAY

Fulham had chances galore. Everton had chances galore. Fulham missed big chances. Everton missed big chances. Rinse. Repeat.

Despite the scoreline, this was an entertaining and lively encounter. Until both teams got into the penalty box at their respective ends. Fulham somehow hacked off the line in the first half as Everton hit the bar, then Raul Jimenez missed a glorious chances and Jordan Pickford denied Tosin’s header with a brilliant save.

Beto then missed two sitters late on as Sean Dyche and Everton thought they had won it.

The draw leaves Fulham on 25 points and Everton on 18, as the Toffees have slipped into the relegation zone after Luton smashed Brighton 4-0 and the Hatters also have a game in-hand over Everton.

Stalemate sums up shattered confidence for Fulham, Everton attacks

Look, we didn’t expect a classic. Both Fulham and Everton are struggling for confidence and their attacking units haven’t been consistent all season long. But we did have an open, entertaining game. Until the final third. That’s when players stiffened up. Attackers were thinking too much. Taking too long on the ball. Not doing the simple things. Going against their instincts. From Raul Jimenez to Rodrigo Muniz and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Beto, all four were guilty of missing big chances and wasting glorious openings. If Fulham and Everton had composure in the final third they would be much higher up the table. They are well-organized and tough teams to play against but that final touch is missing and that’s why Everton have slipped into the bottom three and Fulham are in danger of being dragged into the relegation scrap.

Fulham vs Everton live updates! – By Joe Prince-Wright

Full time: Fulham 0-0 Everton

Both teams are severely lacking confidence in front of goal and coughed up big chances. Draw was a fair result in west London.

How has Beto not scored… twice!?

First Beto heads over from two yards out. Then a corner is whipped in and finds him at the back post but he can’t slot home, then gets in Godfrey’s way as he tries to bundle home. Everton looked destined to win it late on. Dychey can’t believe it.

Decordova Reid sees his effort squirm just wide

Pickford watches the effort roll just past his far post as the hosts are piling on the pressure late on.

What a save from Jordan Pickford!

Willian whips in a delightful cross to the back stick and Tosin’s header looks destined for the top corner but Pickford somehow claws it away.

Leno denies Harrison

Everton are doing their best to create chances and Jack Harrison dribbles inside the box and his low effort forces Bernd Leno into a good stop down low.

Chances for both teams

The trend continues as both teams continue to create chances but there’s a real lack of confidence in front of goal as Muniz is the latest to see his effort deflected over. He took too long to get his shot away.

Half time: Fulham 0-0 Everton

Chances for both teams but some big chances have been passed up.

Jimenez has to score

Fulham will be kicking themselves. The ball drops to Jimenez in the box but he somehow smashes it wide. How!?

Absolute chaos at Craven Cottage

A free kick is pushed out by Leno straight to Tarkowski. His scuffed shot is deflected up and onto the bar, then Fulham somehow scramble to clear it off the line. Incredible piece of defending. Replays show it may have brushed off the arm of Fulham’s Antonee Robinson before it was cleared. But VAR has had a look and there’s no penalty kick. Sean Dyche isn’t happy.

Palhinha heads over from close range

Should be 1-0 to Fulham a cross from the right finds Joao Palhinha and his header from close range flies over the bar. It was a tough chance the way it reached him but he has to be hitting the target there.

A lively start at Craven Cottage. Fulham are trying to force the issue but Jordan Pickford denies Antonee Robinson’s curler at one end and Dominic Calvert-Lewin forced Issa Diop into a brilliant block at the other. Open start on the banks of the River Thames bodes well for this one.

Fulham starting lineup

Leno — Castagne, Adarabioyo, Diop, Robinson — Palhinha, Cairney — De Cordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian, Jimenez

Everton starting lineup

Pickford — Young, Godfrey, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko — Harrison, Garner, Danjuma, McNeil — Calvert-Lewin

Focus on Fulham, team news

Fulham have some key players away at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Adama Traore continues to spend time on the sidelines since his summer arrival. Scoring goals has been a big problem for Fulham and they’ve tried Raul Jimenez, Rodrigo Muniz and Carlos Vinicius up top and only the former looks likely to get close to double figures for this season. Fulham have to keep this game tight and then hope the likes of Andreas Pereira, Willian or Bobby Decordova-Reid can open up Everton’s defense on the counter.

OUT: Adama Traore (hamstring), Calvin Bassey (international duty), Alex Iwobi (international duty), Fode Ballo-Toure (international duty), Harry Wilson (muscle)

Focus on Everton, team news

Sean Dyche will be concerned with the lack of chances Everton are creating as their most recent Premier League outing against Aston Villa ended in a 0-0 draw and they missed the couple of the big chances they did create. There’s a lot of pressure on Dominic Calvert-Lewin to deliver the goods, while Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil are doing their best to create and support DCL in attack.

OUT: Idrissa Gana Gueye (international duty), Dele Alli (groin), Abdoulaye Doucoure (thigh), Seamus Coleman (knock), Andre Gomes (calf)
