LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -Before the Texas Tech Lady Raiders took the court Saturday afternoon, Lubbock area kids got to experience it for themselves.

Texas Tech celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a free clinic before the game.

It was open for kids ages 4-12.

Student-athletes from various TTU female sports showed off what it’s like to be a woman in athletics.

Kids got to spend time with Tech’s womens golf team, cheer and pom, softball, soccer, and more.

Bri Lemaster, who is the associate Director of Promotion and Engagement said,“I think it’s such an exciting way for them to get involved not even, or with tech athletics but also just in women’s sports they kind of get a feel for meeting the athletes, engaging with the athletes, and just being a part of the community.”

This is the third year Texas Tech has hosted the clinic and says it continues to grow bigger and bigger.

The official National Girls and Women in Sports Day is in February.
